Ar tu esi žmogus? Gal gyvulys? O gal tu esi žvėris? ,,Ferma” , naujausias Romos teatro akademijos ,,Sofia Amendolea” spektaklis, į šiuos paprastus klausimus pateikia nelauktus ir šokiruojančius atsakymus. Paremta judesio ir kalbos improvizacijomis, ši pjesė yra inscenizacija pagal G. Orwello satyrinę apysaką ,,Gyvulių ūkis” ir D. Buzzati mistinę apysaką ,,Garsus meškos įsiveržimas į Siciliją”. Abi apysakos, publikuotos 1945 m., atskleidžia panašumą tarp žmogaus ir gyvulio, kada individas pasiekia valdžią. G. Orwellas ir D. Buzzati teigia, kad valdžia veda į ištvirkimą. Tai ir tampa ,,Fermos” kertine ašimi. Vaizdiniai, šviesos, garsai ir judesiai scenoje sukuria mistinės ir baimę keliančios fermos, vietos, kurioje gimsta žvėris, vaizdinį.

“Are You a Human Being, are You an Animal, or... are You a BEAST?” These three simple questions find unexpected and contradictory answers in “THE FARM”, the new International Project by the THEATRE ACADEMY OF ROME Sofia Amendolea, directed by Paolo Alessandri (the Academy‘s co–founder, professor, and Co–Director of Romateatrofestival). The play, inspired by G. Orwell‘s forward–looking novel “ANIMAL FARM”, and D. Buzzati‘s visionary novel “LA FAMOSA INVASIONE DEGLI ORSI IN SICILIA” (The bear‘s famous invasion of Sicily), is the result of months of mise–en–scène writing based on corporeal and verbal improvisation. Both novels published in 1945, curiously coincide in the parallel use between Human Being and Animal Being to unmask the creatures‘ real cruelty once power is reached and led to corruption. This “Corruption”, showcased as a cruel social satire in Orwell‘s novel and as an epic dark tale in Buzzanti‘s, is the essence of the play. Through an audocius use of bodies, sounds, voices and imagery, “THE FARM” presents to the audience a visionary “Creepy Farm”: a place where the antagonistic roles of Human Being and Animal Being are inverted at first, then fused, giving birth to a new, terrifying Creature: the Beast.
