About

We invited someone who had hurt others

At work

To come work with us

They said they had changed

So we said we would not harm them

At work

Given a second chance

This person will create an exhibition

Which can only be seen in this context

Or not.

If anyone can.

Our performance is born of reflections upon the nature of human relations in our workplaces. The notion of Masters and Great Artists is one of the essential components in the world of creative enterprise. We are interested in deconstructing narratives of human greatness, by examining collective mechanisms related to both real and symbolic power. We are offering the opportunity to gaze into grey zones governed by conflicting interpretations and ambiguous experiences.

We wish to ask how it is possible to return to the collective following a scandal involving violent conduct. Is a return to the status quo, and continued creative collaboration, possible? On what grounds? What are the consequences for the individual making the return and for those around them?

The performance is produced in collaboration with the Institute of Performative Arts. The performance is funded by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of the Republic of Poland as part of the multi-annual program NIEPODLEGŁA 2017-2021, under the "Cultural Bridges" program of the Adam Mickiewicz Institute.
