Playwrights from Other Countries Inspired by Vilnius and the Artworks They Saw There

Last week the participants of the International Playwrights' Residency were staying in Vilnius for the whole week. This residency was implemented by the Royal Belgian Theatre in Brussels, the Spanish National Theatre in Madrid, the Gorki Theatre in Berlin, and the Lithuanian National Drama Theatre (LNDT). This year's Versmė Festival will feature plays by LNDT representatives and a final meeting of all participants will take place in Madrid in November.

LNDT Announces 5 New Season Premieres and the Return of Great Hall Hits

The Lithuanian National Drama Theatre (LNDT) has announced the repertoire for the 84th season (September 2023 – February 2024), which will include 5 premieres and the return of the audience's favorite and much-loved productions to the Great Hall. The 84th season of LNDT will start on 6 September with a new work for the teenage audience, "Roulette" by the Norwegian director Jo Strømgren, who is already well known to Lithuanians.

Žygimantas Kudirka and Natalija Vorozhbit from Ukraine Will Represent Lithuania at the International Playwrights' Residencies

The Lithuanian National Drama Theatre, together with three other European theatres – the Royal Belgian Theatre (KVS – Koninklijke Vlaamse Schouwburg), the Spanish National Theatre (Centro Dramatico Nacional) in Madrid, and the Gorki Theatre in Berlin – is launching a year-long program of playwrights' residencies in four cities including Vilnius.
