COSMOS+: 5 stars in Denmark

Lithuanian National Drama Theatre production COSMOS+ by Kirsten Dehlholm, leader of Hotel Pro Forma (Denmark) was adapted and presented with Danish cast in Copenhagen in February 2015.

It was shown 12 times, all of the shows had full-houses. Both audience and critics were very enthusiastic about the performance. Critics evaluated COSMOS+ as a new artistic phenomenon – “adult theatre for children”.

COSMOS+ got five stars out of six in the major Danish newspapers “Politiken” and “Berlingske”, also in websites teater1.dk, teateravisen.dk and cphculture.dk.

In the article "The astonishing universe infinity" published in “Berlingske” COSMOS+ was called the best “Hotel Pro Forma’s” performance after “War Sum Up”. In the article they wrote: “COSMOS+ is Kirsten’s Dehlholm’s first performance for children, created in 2014 in Lithuanian National Drama Theatre. The strength of this performance is precisely the ability to reach both children and adults. By fusing art with science, COSMOS+ is great, sensory, thought evocative way of talking about the universe.” Janken Varden in Teateravisen.dk adds: “I find confirmation of my conviction that the ability of the theatre to visualise, humanise and explain otherwise incomprehensible connections is enormous. Unrivalled, I would say.”

The main Danish daily “Politiken” in article "Dead stars shine" about COSMOS+ wrote: "So Dehlholm, despite her reputation for creating demanding performance theatre, has actually come up with a performance that, with its overwhelming power of image, can work for children – not least for us grown-up children. Compared with the heavens we become infinitely small, curious and full of amazement. ‘So look upwards and outwards!’"

Performance’s scenery and creative group after work in Denmark is returning to Vilnius. Upcoming COSMOS+ shows in Lithuanian National Drama Theatre will be 1 March, 26 April and 31 May.
