New LNDT season - Exercise Your Soul!
Recently, our society has been paying a lot of attention to a healthy body – everybody talks about a healthy diet, sports, marathons and keeping in shape, but what about our inner world? In its 77th season, the LNDT will invite you to train your soul. “Theatre reminds one of the need of an inner marathon and creates the right conditions for it. The performances running throughout the season, one after the other, will raise questions to which, we believe, the viewers will find the answers.” – says LNDT Managing Director M. Budraitis on the concept of the 77th season.

“Boris Godunov” with English Subtitles – on January 29th
January 29th Boris Godunov directed by Eimuntas Nekrošius, will be played with English subtitles. The theatre is kindly asking everyone to share this information with Vilnius visitors as well as with English-speaking city residents. “Boris Godunov” is a performance based on a historical play, which speaks of the realities of the period in the Russian history, which is distinguished by an intense fight for power.

“The Great Evil” takes root in Lithuanian National Drama Theatre
Rehearsals have started at the Lithuanian National Drama Theatre (LNDT) for the premiere of the production “The Great Evil”, the working title of which was “Wartists”. The premiere will take place on September 23rd, and thus will open the 76th season at LNDT. Playwright Marius Ivaškevičius and director Árpád Schilling have cooperated as the authors of the performance.

Cosmos+ director Dehlholm receives a Distinguished International Award
In connection with this Spring’s congress in Malmö and Copenhagen ”ISPA – International Society for the Performing Arts” presented "Cosmos+" director Kirsten Dehlholm with ”The Distinguished Artist Award”. The award is given to an artist who has made an outstanding contribution of talent, artistry, dedication and service to the world of the performing arts. Kirsten Dehlholm is the artistic director of Hotel Pro Forma. The company is celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2015.

Newest premiere “Boris Godunov” – on May 22th, 23rd!
Director Eimuntas Nekrošius is at the moment in the final stage of rehearsals for his premiere of “Boris Godunov” at Lithuanian National Drama Theatre (LNDT). The premiere will take place on the Big Stage, May 22nd, 23rd.
“Boris Godunov” is a performance based on a historical play of the same title written by the Russian writer Alexander Pushkin. Based on historical facts, the play speaks of the period in Russian history, which is distinguished by an intense and cruel fight for power between influential rulers.

Two major events in March and May
Lithuanian National Drama Theatre this year is celebrating 75th work anniversary and in order to commemorate this jubilee presents two big premieres, created by two contemporary theatre legends. Lithuanian director Eimuntas Nekrošius and Polish director Krystian Lupa are going to meet under the roof of the same theatre for the first time.

COSMOS+: 5 stars in Denmark
Lithuanian National Drama Theatre production COSMOS+ by Kirsten Dehlholm, leader of Hotel Pro Forma (Denmark) was adapted and presented with Danish cast in Copenhagen in February 2015.
It was shown 12 times, all of the shows had full-houses. Both audience and critics were very enthusiastic about the performance. Critics evaluated COSMOS+ as a new artistic phenomenon – “adult theatre for children”.
